The history of the Skornyakovo-Arkhangelskoye manor dates back more than three centuries and is inextricably linked with the history of the royal house of the Romanovs. Over the centuries, the Skornyakovo-Arkhangelskoye estate amiably received a variety of guests: prominent nobles and county landowners, governors and merchants.

Famous owners of the estate – the Skornyakov-Pisarevs, Chernyshevs, Muravyovs, Chertkovs, Shidlovskys – were hospitable hosts. People came here on vacation from Moscow and St. Petersburg, lived here, loved, got married, baptized children, played cricket and had breakfast on the grass, ate Russian botvinya and drank French wines, rode bicycles, painted pictures and invented the first airplanes.
